Existential Questions

Another poem from the dark...

Beware the saved.
They’re the ones
most afraid of dying.

Find an actor.
Ask him or her
where their spirit goes
when they inhabit
someone else’s soul.

I think God’s a finisher,
always ready to deliver
the knockout blow
with a fist or a kiss,
depending on the moment.

I ask myself who,
and the astonishing answers
keep getting more precise.
How can this be?

A voice comes from the dark,
“If you wish to remain here,
become still
and the water will clear.”
