Consciousness
That elusive state of peace...
When this day is over
I may become sad knowing
it will never come again,
even though it never truly was
just as I had imagined.
Yet by tomorrow I may
see with new eyes,
hear with new ears,
and feel with a new heart.
Whatever I call knowing
is but a tide within,
the ebbing and flowing
of a deeper consciousness
through which I come into peace,
into stillness and presence.
