These pages fill quickly enough
as the days move quicker still,
as the rain yields to the sun,
and as the soggy grass climbs,
towards the green leaves of Spring.
I pause and clear my throat,
starting my song anew.
Year after year my experience grows,
first heavy in the long, cold nights,
then my soul lighter in the sun-warmed air.
Daily I must come back to my life,
that gentle calling
to share this world with others,
to stand tall against the backdrop of illusion,
and to love what I cannot see.
