The mythic me falls apart. The brave warrior, the stolid intellectual, the peaceful philosopher, the clever wit, the lone gun: they all go. When the loneliness comes, the wide open desert darkness, terrifies me With its wind and space. the forest darkness envelops me with its dense branches and strange sounds. I lock myself away, biding my time until morning. I will survive. I will survive. I will survive, to see the true me resurrected.
