Why I Weep
Why do you weep?...
If I tell you I weep, please believe me. And if I say mine are tears of release, please understand I am no longer angry at the intensity of the sun for singeing the hearts of humans and bringing darkness into the daylight. And please accept I’ve let go, too, of my frustration at the moon for being aloof and mysterious and so difficult for me to appreciate while keeping me awake. I weep because I cannot remain fixed, even as the mountains endure beneath harsh sun and subtle moon. But this weeping makes me more mutable and therefore empathetic to the resiliency of soul, spirit and life.
