What Am I Doing?
A good question...
Yesterday I missed a meeting,
one I called and organized.
I’m sorry for wasting others’ time,
but today take some satisfaction
at remembering my humanity.
Often I’m too busy
to connect the dots between
my doing and my being.
So forgetting a meeting,
missing phone calls,
or ignoring texts
snaps me out of hypnosis
and forces me into
a contemplative space
where I can ask myself:
What am I doing?
