Welcome to My Morning
Do I have time for a short poem, then to make something to eat for breakfast before I get in the car and drive to Cincinnati? I’m feeling anxious, awake and ready, but wanting to start my day a little differently— more slowly, without traffic, and the gnawing tension created by our busy world. I go to the doctor expecting to be told what I already know. You’re getting older. Be careful for this and that. Drop a few pounds. Come back if you need anything. Overall I feel quite healthy, yet would readily admit my biggest challenge is living in this world as it seemingly becomes less hospitable to life.
