Try Not to Forget
...you always bring yourself along.
Congratulations!
You survived,
made it to this today
relatively intact and hopeful
for a better tomorrow.
You paid a steep price
to unlearn and to unravel
the twine of your existence
into a single golden thread
now connecting your heart
directly with God’s.
Who,
seeing you now,
would not agree
you’ve become
a new man,
a new woman.
a new person,
bowed yet unbroken,
truly beloved?
The time has arrived.
Your bags are packed.
You’re now ready to leave
for a new dimension of being.
