...sounds so much better than fixer.
Taking things apart is just something I do.
I started with my toys and other gizmos,
then moved on to more abstract things
like culture and the human psyche.
I deconstruct
in order to figure out
just how something works
and hopefully understand it,
with a sincere hope to fix,
or maybe make it run
a little bit better.
But by my age
I ought to have learned
it’s rarely a good idea
to analyze other people,
venturing into headspaces
where I know I don’t belong.
