I’m too wide awake.
My thoughts are turning into prose
and my gaze is becoming
sharp and focused.
My mind wants to seize this moment
and give you the capital-T truth,
while my heart is lost
in the marketplace of this world
trying to find a way back home.
I’ve asked the poets for reassurance,
but they only revel in confusing me more.
