Take the Plunge

I can’t stand those old guys
who refuse to let go
of their control,
of their wealth,
of their power,
and so much more.

They rightly wonder,
if I would do this,
what will be left of me?
And so too few of ‘em take the plunge,
until inevitably compelled
by a much greater force.

When my time is up,
will I have the courage to jump
into that mysterious yet loving abyss
called God?
