Sweet Taste of Sorrow
Sugar may be sweet,
but the day will assuredly come
when it seems downright sour
next to the nectar of your sorrow.
If this makes no sense
it only means you have yet
to be invited to a tasting.
But there is no need to worry.
Grief is a reliable messenger
and will one day deliver
the luscious taste of misery
in a box of candy at your door.
Take the dubious gift
and savor its sweetness.
Each difficult bite is a blessing,
and one day you too will lose
all bitterness in your tasting.
