Soften
This odd sense of self called ego wraps round me tightly like a straitjacket, holding my fragile identity in place. All the while, every electron in my body is a free radical, wanting only to collide with other particles in an explosive reaction, and to join with them in growing chains, so as to build this Universe one tiny, sub-atomic particle at a time. I must pray for courage to let go of the I within me who does not see, and believes himself inert, to the inevitability of change, while he depletes my life, my soul. There is nothing in this world that can resist change - not the trees, not even the rocks, which seem to live forever. The inevitable passing of time is pushing you and it’s pushing me to soften - to soften. So I pray, let the change come and all of life flow through me.
