Same Questions
...too few answers.
Long poems are a luxury for these mid-life mornings, where amidst the harried frenzy my questioning child returns. Why is today Monday? Do I have to go to school? Where is the ocean from here? What happened to grandpa? Will I see him again? How come the sky is blue? Why can’t I decide? Will I grow old and die? The same simple questions are returning as mysteriously as that forgotten day they left, and yet the answers I once accepted no longer satisfy my weary soul. The voice which woke me today urged me to keep asking all of the questions I have, even if there will never be a satisfying answer.
