Right Now
...is where I want my focus.
When I truly relax I’m able to recall yesterday with a little more perspective, as if I’m reading the news. Yesterday’s story begins with a long and hot drive through sweltering humidity to join in my nephew’s party. And while I’m there resisting risking my neck in the bouncy-house, eating cupcakes with blue icing, and drinking too much bourbon beer while bullshitting with the big boys, until the evening came to rescue me with some much-needed calm right before bed. All in all it was a good time, one of the many thousands I’ve been lucky to have, and must now try to let go to make room for more. Today I need all of the space available within my head and my heart for what’s happening right now.
