Redemption
...may come through your suffering.
Come hell,
come high water,
come the despair
of a moonless night
while traveling along
a road with no end...
What never comes
until the water recedes,
until the moon reappears
and the road turns toward home,
is redemption.
If it helps,
sing and tell your stories
about hell,
and that rising water,
and the highway you traveled
to befriend your darkness.
