Not Voting
...also sends a message.
I suppose I’ll vote, but without compelling reasons I can’t seem to muster a patriotic sense of duty, obligation or honor. I’m tired of stories, imagined and embellished, cynically goading me toward sympathy and nostalgia, anger and animosity. Sadly, these days voting is much more about money and manipulation than a sense of duty or public service. Am I angry?! Aren’t you?! I’m not saying don’t vote. I’m not saying it doesn’t matter. I’m not saying the struggle for voting rights should be forgotten. I’m just saying it’s a valid third option not to vote.
