No Fix
How about this idea— there’s nothing of consequence I’ll ever need to fix. As it turns out, one of my most difficult lessons is learning what needs repair. Surprisingly, there really isn’t much. Despite my best efforts, like oil from a busted car, my life has been leaking out of me for years. By and large, the best work I’ve done has been on myself. Thus my new nightly prayer: “Please God, help me to lay down my tools, and to create peace without them.”
