Newton's Cradle

For every action, there is...

Why is it
when I push,
you resist,
and when you push,
I resist?

This great energy
embodied in our being
actively imposes itself,
or passively holds the line,
over and over again
trillions of times each day,
all while keeping our world
in a precarious stalemate.

It took only one step
for me to realize,
what I resist persists.

But only after the twelfth step
did I come to realize
that by letting go of my will,
an infinite energy
would flow through me.
