My Screens
...are portals into darkness.
Three empty screens are staring back at me. The matte black face shows me nothing, but the glossy ones are like dark mirrors reflecting the shadows inside my tiny office. These three screens are attached to a world much bigger and darker than I can imagine. When I turn them on they glow dazzlingly, concealing the secrets of where they’ve been with colorful images and bouncing icons. I cover the tiny cameras atop these empty screens, not wanting the darkness to see into my soul.
