Meditation
The old preacher speaks to me from a book. “Do not feign love,” he warns. I nod in agreement. To fully appreciate his words, I must take them inside and discover the love already living within me. Death and love are everywhere, sitting right beside me now. They are not at odds. Rather they endure on dusty bookshelves, staring at each other through old picture frames. In this familiar liminal space, I find a place to sit quietly. With my eyes closed I sense things I cannot describe. Soon my entire body is listening for love. And I am not disappointed, for love is indeed everywhere.
