Little Me
...does plenty.
Nothing needing doing
ever remains undone.
I’m not held responsible
for the rising of the sun.
It’s not me who commands
the tide or the wind.
And I cannot wake
the trees in the spring.
All I can be
is little me,
not too big or insignificant,
free-floating
amidst all things
seen and unseen.
With each breath
I do what’s mine to do,
and somehow my soul
is unified in creation.
