Like a Bull

I stand alone in the shade;
the world I observe is chaotic.
Like a bull I wait patiently,
suppressing all of my urges.

Some can see it; others cannot.
Breathe in, breathe out.
The breeze picks up.
I feel a surge.
My pulse quickens, I isolate a beautiful woman in all that noise.
Her pants are so tight they reveal the contours of her lower half.
My yearning makes me grimace.
Life, not this woman, is beckoning me.

The stillness of this spot is so seductive
I want to remain here forever.
There is no pain from confrontation.
There is no pleasure from connection.
I must reach toward a greater love,
and risk falling into serenity.
