Kerouac (2)
No Kerouac tonight, or dinner for that matter.
A little ice cream from the DQ and some iced tea will have to do.
In my head are so many possibilities,
I’m frightened by it all.
Like holding water…don’t squeeze…
A sacrifice here…there…
When…Where?
The top is my goal.
I’m filled with such soul.
Here my feet on the ground,
treasonous thoughts do confound.
Grasping, rasping…don’t want to let go (spill!) all
the opportunities.
But I must rest.
Way past midnight,
skip Kerouac’s insight.
