Keepin' It Real

How I live authentically.

Keepin’ it real
means using profanity
whenever necessary.

Keepin’ it real
means showing up on time
and only as I am.

Keepin’ it real
means not going along
just to get along.

Keepin’ it real
means livin’ here and now,
not in my imagination.

Keepin’ it real
demands I tell the truth,
and others do too.

Keepin’ it real
means laughing at myself
as I find ways to love others.
