Just Sit There
I once found it easy
to list my favorite memories:
the songs I listen to,
the places I had visited,
and the restaurants where
I loved to eat.
But something has changed
and it’s so tempting for me
to blame others.
Living unconsciously
means many different things.
It could be watching a movie
and not remembering the title,
or listening to a song written by AI.
From there the road narrows,
until choices can only come
from our unconscious instincts,
or perhaps even worse
from nowhere at all.
But I don’t know what to do.
So maybe I’ll just sit here.
