I Write Poetry
I write poetry, and though mine may not change the world, it has already changed me. Poetry is everywhere and spoken by everyone. It is the language of love and the catalyst for a universe in constant motion; one that is ever-searching for the words, and for the myriad forms we call God. The power of poetry resides not in any knowing nor the mystery of form, but in discovering the very tangible power of our mystic songs to touch, to heal, to inspire, to create, to love. Our lives are pure poetry, broken and unfinished lines trailing off into the mysterious. We are the good and bad rhymes, syncopated or empty time, too many words and none at all. Little in this world makes sense, and then almost too easily, poetry makes everything crystal clear. In retrospect, our lives may seem like epic poems, but in truth we’re only a next stanza in that great big eternal poem called Life.
