High School Reunion

I declare there is nothing more beautiful
than the bright blue sky
on this crisp, autumn morning
in a place called Ohio!

What our class discovered in gathering last night
is as important as anything we learned in school,
and probably more important
for living out the remainder of our lives.

If the years have taught us anything,
it is an abiding faith in our humanity
which we are obliged to share with each other
through understanding hugs and lots of laughter.

Funny how time bends when we get together.
There is nothing that can deny the sacred ground
relating our common memories creates,
nor the abundant love grown strong over the years
from just a handful of tiny seeds.
