Here and Everywhere
Let us go there for peace.
One day before tomorrow. One day past yesterday. There, in-between, rests today. Right here is where I become angry when you tell me there is no hot or cold. I assure you, I am hot. Who is behind this voice trying to calm me down? It seems as though you want the whole world to remain asleep. Yes, there may be peace right here in the present. But there is also peace up ahead and far behind, within the icy outer reaches, and the fiery furnaces below. Isn’t it the job of prophets to remind us repeatedly, peace is everywhere?
