Grounded in Love
This page isn’t demanding my poem. It doesn’t need my ink so much as I need to find a way to drain everyday thoughts and feelings from my bloated head and heart. I first fear an empty page, but then I laugh ‘cause I’m never at a loss for words. The only true jeopardy would be for me to sever myself from the Source, allowing my words to become clumsy and callous, while offering no one, least of all myself, any redemptive value. Then again the danger has lessened. I’m older now and know well enough love is my best medicine, that I ought to stay grounded, to take a lighthearted perspective - be content to miss the rocket ship for Mars.
