Gifts for Free
Whatsoever could it be
keeping you from you
and keeping me from me?
I am not one so bold
to think our story is foretold.
There’s never been a honey bee
afraid to set his stinger free,
or to give his pollen to the hive
so his queen may stay alive.
Take whatever your gifts may be
and offer them without a fee.
Soon love will be at your door
ready to hold you evermore.
