Fold 'em
...but find an ace you can keep.
I’m a lousy poker player,
always tipping my hand,
unable to keep a straight face
while holding only two pair.
But it doesn’t matter anymore.
My soul has been nagging me
to stop worrying about winning,
to go out and invite everyone else
not already sitting at the big table
to take a seat and learn the game.
Life has dealt me many good hands
I’ve had the choice to play or fold,
but now my only real option
is to put down the cards
and learn how to love.
