Falling in Love ~ for Melissa
There is one aspect to falling in love,
which overwhelms like the Rapture,
while holding us in thrall to another human being,
then igniting in a phosphorescent flash,
fusing our body and soul together.
When the smoke clears,
and clear it must,
there is a revelatory moment,
at which point you become a witness
to the divine alchemy of love
and to this foundational truth:
that you would give your life for another
so that they may rely upon you,
as you have built your foundation upon God.
