Churning
...for no particular reason.
When I stir and churn too much
the buttermilk becomes sour.
I feed my stirring
with bad news,
bitter truths,
and senseless quarrels.
This endless swirling
feeds no one,
leaves me wanting,
and hardens my heart.
If I can stop my churning,
it will most certainly conclude
with a prayer for gratitude.
