A Good Recipe
The ingredients are all here. So what is it in Life’s recipe? It’s anything, everything, and nothing at all. I’d like to bake something special for you. I want it to be delicious and not too sweet. I hate it when my baking, like my writing, contains clichés and not unique flavors. There’s a Boston Poet who moves me by voice. Still I can’t understand her words. They seem too close to her or are maybe too far from me. Yet just holding her book helps me to make sense of this world, a moveable feast. Somebody— is it God, or is it you, or even the poetess? I can’t discern who is telling me to open my door, to let the world in, so I may find an even better recipe to share with you.
