A Day Off

Have you ever wondered...

What might happen
if you took a day off,
did nothing,
went nowhere,
and spoke to no one?

Would you lose your job?
Would you starve?
Would your family suffer?
Would you begin to remember
what you’ve tried to forget?
Would you become empty
and lose yourself?
Would anyone stop loving you?
Would you slowly disappear,
along with all meaning
that comes from your doing?
Would the world end?

So why is it
your soul keeps asking you
to take a day off?
